Why RSA Training Courses Online?
I understand that you just want the cheapest RSA course and you want to complete it fast as possible – this website is designed to do help you do that and more.
Unfortunately, just choosing the cheapest provider promising a quick course can lead to problems.
Accredited training providers are supposed to meet certain requirements (and the authorities actually seem to work hard to make this happen) but how the course work is delivered and the service and support you receive varies enormously from website to website – just like it does with teachers.
Some courses seem more focused on making the owner money and not necessarily helping you learn how to attain the RSA certificate.
Thats where this website can help.
I cover almost every state in Australia including NSW, QLD, WA, SA, NT, TAS, and the A.C.T.
I help you choose from the hundreds of training providers that exist so that you get the best training at low cost.
How do I do this?
For each training course I review, I pay for and complete the training myself. Then I review the training and compare all the information I can gather so that you can see what works best.
My focus is great training at low cost:
Great Training
Not to be overly dramatic, but if someone who is underage gets sold a drink by you and then drives home and has an head-on accident … lets just say, its good to be trained well. We assess and compare at all the important factors such as how the training is presented.
Cost
The up-front cost is not the only cost you need to consider. For example, some training providers charge extra to email or post a copy of your certificate. Others offer a discount if you do other courses like the RSG or Food Handling course at the same time. This can save you up to 30% of the cost of all the courses.
Who I am?
My name is Quinn and I am the owner of this website. One of my first jobs while at university was working for Sizzler in Rockhampton, Queensland. When I became old enough to serve alcohol I became a waiter. This job changed my life in a very positive way.
After I graduated from engineering school, there was a recession and so I fell back on my waiting experience to land me an awesome job on Brisbane’s Southbank. Later I travelled the world and found that waiting was the best way to earn good money in a job where I met people and had a great time. (I actually earned more waiting tables than as an Engineer) I have worked in Canada and the UK and I love the industry and its people. After travelling the world I started Jobaroo.com five years ago to help backpackers find a job in Australia.
Many backpackers in Australia work in hospitality, so when we found that they could do the RSA course online before they arrived in Australia, we wanted to ensure they knew about it.
Of course, many Aussies also need to get RSA training so we decided to build a site that was useful to everyone.
Selecting an RSA course online used to be about searching for a RSA course that was cheapest and had a nice looking website. When online training opened up to everyone, lots of course providers jumped on the bandwagon. Many were in it for a quick buck and their focus seemed to be about making sales and not necessarily on providing great training. Over the past couple years prices we saw prices drop in Queensland from about $85 to as low as $49. At first this seemed to be a good thing but some of these super low cost training providers were clearly providing terrible training. In 2012 one such training organisation had their approval to conduct the RSA and RSG training cancelled by the OLGR in Queensland. (OLGR – Office of Liquor and Gambling)
Taking this a step further, I want to go beyond what it takes for a training organisation to meet minimum standards and hold the industry to a higher standard. This website is designed to ensure you get great training at low cost. It is possible to achieve both.
Full Disclosure
We are an affiliate website this means that we make money from the course providers recommended if you choose a course through this website. This does not come at an additional cost to you, in fact we aim to actually save you some money by negotiating a better price for you.
I have paid for and done these training courses myself. I would not recommend them to you unless I truly believed they were the way to go. In addition to this I am only more then happy to help you out if you get stuck on a question.
As this site grows we aim to add additional good quality courses to the site so you can compare these for yourself. Initially we are starting with one training provider that we have worked with for years and feel very comfortable recommending. Their QLD course is also suitable for SA, NT and WA which is a big advantage. As with all websites I have built in the past we are an independent website with your interests at heart.
If you choose to select one of the training providers we recommend – thank you. Your support is highly appreciated and it helps us to seek out and review additional courses.
Please contact me by email quinn@rsacoursesonline.com or you can also leave your comments on the site at the end of each page where we review individual providers.
Cheers to your success in hospitality,
Quinn Askeland
