How it works
Visit this RSA WA Online website and pay the one time fee via credit card or PayPal of $49.
You will get immediate access to all of the training materials, videos, quizzes, and assessments.
Read through the material carefully, jotting down notes of things you may not remember specific details for (view examples of the hardest questions on our main page).
Take each assessment after you finish reading through the material for that section, you must answer each question correctly to move onto the next one.
If you answer a question wrong, you will be sent back to the training material so you can re-read that section, and then attempt to answer the question correctly again on the assessment. If you fail the same question three times, you will have to contact the support team for additional training before you can complete your certification.
Once you pass all 7 assessments, you will be sent your RSA certificate in a PDF that same day and start working.
Things you need to know about serving alcohol in WA:
Each state has it’s own laws and regulations regarding the selling of alcohol, so it’s important to have a thorough understanding of WA requirements.
The biggest difference between WA alcohol laws that is extremely important for all RSA takers to understand, is that it is illegal for a minor (anyone under the age of 18) to buy, supply or drink alcohol.
Other states (such as VIC and NSW) will allow underage drinking during a meal as long as the minor is accompanied by a parent or guardian, but this is not the case in WA.
WA’s laws are governed by The Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor under the Liquor Control Act 1988, and as of November 20th, 2015 the department made some major changes to the alcohol laws that are important for RSA holders should also be aware of.
A few of the key changes to note are:
- Extended trading hours for hotels and nightclubs
- People are now allowed to carry liquor across an unlicensed area of the same premises
- It is now illegal to supply alcohol to someone underage at private events without their parent or guardian present
