When comparing RSAs online, it’s important to understand that they can differ MASSIVELY.
I am very passionate want to save you a lot of hassle.
I get it, your main goal is simple – you want to be clear to work in a job by getting the qualifications you require.
You want to do this a quickly and cheaply as possible.
But there is a problem with this.
You would think that all RSAs online would be generally fine, but in reality they can vary in everything from cost, quality, length of time they take and a whole bunch of other things.
To become an RSA training provider, they have to jump through hoops and follow certain guidelines set out by the corresponding state authority. Once they become Registered Training Authorities, it’s up to them on how they present their courses and how much they charge.
Unfortunately, this means people are buying poor quality or worst courses that make it hard to pass. You may think that the difficulty is in the actual course material, but in reality the difficulty is in trying to understand poorly laid out information or using antiquated websites.
To make it easy for you I have completed several courses and found the best.
Here is my Top Pick for QLD, WA, SA, NT, TAS and ACT – check out my Top Tips – Your Welcome! 🙂
For my top recommendation you can do NSW online which is quicker and faster then a whole day in a classroom you have to travel to.
Here are some things to compare when choosing an RSA Online:
Time:
It’s important to put a value on your own time. Online RSA courses can take from 2 to 6 hours to complete, so you really need to make sure that this time is well spent with a good quality course. You need to put value on your own time, and a badly designed course will take you a lot longer to complete than one that had a good layout.
Cost:
You will want value for money, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that you should pick the cheapest course available.
Course Quality:
The quality of the course is one of the most important things to consider when choosing an RSA course. If the course doesn’t display information in a way that’s clear and understandable, then the course will be a lot more difficult to pass. If you enjoy doing the course then you be a lot more likely to pass it. If the course is boring and frustrating to use due to poor quality, then you could be a lot more likely to fail.
Available Online Support:
When comparing RSA courses, it’s important to check out their online support and how easy they are to contact. If you have any questions you need answered or if a problem occurs, it’s good to know that you can contact the course providers and that they will respond promptly.
How Well They Teach You:
It’s not just about passing the course; you want to be able to learn what to do in real world situations. Some courses (only a small amount) will allow you to pass quickly, without actually learning anything. This isn’t very useful when it comes to real world situations, where you could end up being fined, as well as fired, for making the wrong decision.
Nationally Accredited:
Some courses will include certification for other states in Australia, while others only include certification for only one state. If you plan on moving around, courses that allow you to work in other states are a good idea.
RSG Certification:
RSG stands for Responsible Service of Gambling and you will certainly need this certificate if you plan on working in any pub with a poker machine. If you plan on working in a restaurant or anywhere that you’re certain won’t have them, then you don’t really need to pay the extra amount to have an RSG included.
Completing your RSA and RSG together can save you a lot of money. However, in New South Wales (where it’s actually called RCG) and Tasmania you can only complete RSG courses in person in a classroom. In Western Australia an RSG isn’t required by law, while in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and Northern Territory you can complete your RSG course online.
Of course, it’s hard to compare courses yourself when you only really want pay for one. Luckily for you I’ve have already reviewed many RSA courses. Here are the top RSA courses that I can recommend for you:
The best for NSW, QLD, WA, SA and NT is this course.
