Well done – wasting money is not fun!
But wasting time searching for the cheapest RSA can waste time too – when you could be putting your RSA to work.
Well your search ends right here – right now!
NOTE: Perhaps you came across a $19 or $24 course… as you may have found these are the price for doing RSAs for other states.
The NSW RSA is a completely different – more involved course and trainers are required to pay the NSW government $70 to produce the lovely little photo ID card you get.
However more importantly, getting the absolute cheapest of anything can be a bad idea too.
So who is the cheapest and the best?
Our research showed that prices range from $109 to $150.
Some by correspondence and some 100% online.
We found the sweet spot was this course which is 100% online (not correspondence) and while not being the absolute cheapest was not far off (at $119) but offers excellent training that I have completed it myself (amongst others to compare).
Why not just do the cheapest?
I get it – you just want an RSA certificate and to pay as little as possible.
I wrote a whole page about why doing the cheapest RSA is a bad idea after running into some very bad RSA courses in other states – one that you could apparently finish in 1 hour got audited and banned.
So whilst the authorities are doing their best to keep standards high, there is always going to be differences just like there are good teachers and bad ones.
In a nutshell;
- The way each course is presented, the technology they use and the service they offer varies.
But that’s not the most important bit;
- Often through the course you may need to help of a real live person (a qualified trainer) and as you can imagine it is expensive to have trainers standing by to help you. The simple way to make a course cheaper is to have less trainers ready and waiting.
It really can be a case of – you get what you pay for.
And it does not end there;
- You can waste a lot of time struggling through a course that does not use the latest in video, audio or a state of the art training platform.
Getting through training is one thing, but absorbing the material really well can be very helpful in your job for years to come.

I am on a mission to help people find great training for their RSA certificate. To do this I have completed several courses for almost every state, including this NSW RSA course which I recommend.
Once signed up to a course you might find my tips to passing helpful.
